Prepared For What ?

I have my backups in place.
Food supplies, water, shelter, communication, protection.
I do this because I think it is best to prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
I had a family member visit with me for a few weeks while he is out of work, and his opinion to all of this " survivalist " talk is a waste of time.
I showed him this clip



He stopped for a minute and scratched his head, and then said that this is just opinion, just wild conspiracies.
But then the smile left his face, and I could see that the wheels were turning in his head. He was starting to open his eyes.
I told him that I did not want to believe where we were headed at first, but things are starting to fall into place.



He looked at me and said " I don't have a life boat, I don't even have a life vest "

Don't Ask, They Won't Tell ??

Obama made us a promise of transparency in his administration
We, as Americans would be made aware what the Government was doing.
We were to be able to read bills, and have our voices heard.
As of today, that has not happened.
When we came out to send a message to the White House, we were labeled Redneck, and teabagger, and racist, and astroturf, and just plain crazy
This message was put together by grass roots organizations. Just regular people that do not like where Obama is leading this country.
The White House blamed Fox News for the demonstrations, and accused them of inciting people to rise against Obama.
This administration has now appointed Anita Dunn to call out Fox News as the muscle for the Republican party.
They have called Fox an " opponent " , and have refused to have Obama give an interview.



I do watch Fox News, and I do check the facts for myself.
As far as I can tell, they are on the mark, and many of the facts that they expose lead to action later in D.C.
Fox stands on their motto " Fair and Balanced ", and even though the host's of many of the opinion shows do just that, give their opinion, they always give someone else the last word, so that the viewer can make their own decision.
Bash them all you want, but it is the truth, they give everyone a chance to tell their side.
This week, Glenn Beck did them one better



A hot line to the show.
A direct line to Glenn Beck so that the White House can correct Glenn when he tells something other than the truth.
You heard Gibbs say he has watched many stories on " that network " that he found not to be true.
Well White House, Obama, Gibbs, Anita Dunn, and anyone else inside the beltway that hears Glenn Beck reporting lies about what Obama and the left is doing to this country,
Call him out.
Call him and set the record straight.

I have a loaded one in my bedroom, one by my front door, and one in my truck.
Why ?
Do I really need to explain it ?
I believe in the " If " Factor, you know, what if ?
What if I woke up and heard the dogs barking at the door ?

What if I saw people walking around my equipment sheds or vehicles ?
There are a lot of people out of work, many hungry, homeless, and desperate people that have no other choice but to take something.
It has not happened to me yet, knock on wood, but it is happening around me.
God knows I would open my home and pantry to anyone in need, but a desperate person is like an injured or caged animal

Too many what ifs to list here, but in these times we all need to prepare for the worst, and not just muggers or thieves.
Maybe it is time to prepare for the extremists
Some say that I am an extremest, a big right wing, gun toting loon.
But hate, and prejudice can cause many to become extremists

Because of what the attackers said, would that not be called a " Hate Crime " ?
I do not want to put out that blacks are bad, because there are many groups here in the United States that are supporting hate against people different from themselves
My feelings, and many of the other people that live in my area, white, black, brown, and whatever have a live and let live attitude.
BUT, and there is always a but,
These views, the hate that is surrounding those people spreads like a virus, and can pop up at anytime.
